Research has focused on three main areas: material modification, environmental performance optimization, and application scenario adaptation. The results have significantly improved the overall performance of these building materials.

Light steel keel gypsum board ceilings possess high strength, fire resistance, long service life, and low weight. Construction technology and quality control are key areas of research for light steel keel gypsum board ceilings.

One study used ramie fiber and PPC cement as modifying components, achieving an optimal formulation of 65:29:6. The resulting boards had a density of 1176 kg/m³, a water absorption rate of 23.83%, and significantly superior flexural strength and impact resistance compared to ordinary commercial gypsum board.

Another study used water hyacinth fiber as a reinforcing material, producing gypsum ceilings with a density range of 1248-1409 kg/m³, capable of withstanding temperatures up to 410℃, and meeting Indonesian SNI 03-2105-2006 and Japanese JIS 5908 standards.
