The key to using gypsum board lies in moisture prevention, crack prevention, and proper installation. Strict control must be exercised over material selection, construction, and post-installation maintenance.

Type Selection: For dry areas (bedrooms, living rooms), choose ordinary paper-faced gypsum board; for damp areas (kitchens, bathrooms), water-resistant (green) gypsum board must be used. Mixing different types is strictly prohibited.

Quality Inspection: Check that the boards are flat, without warping or missing corners; the sound when tapped should be low and even; a hollow sound indicates internal voids or deterioration.

During installation, ensure the spacing between the joists meets specifications (usually ≤400mm).

Waterproof gypsum board should be used in damp areas, or proper moisture-proofing treatment should be applied.

Reinforcing components must be pre-embedded when hanging heavy objects.
