- The PVC film layer itself is a polymer material that is completely non-absorbent and waterproof, forming a dense moisture barrier on the front of the board. Moisture in the air cannot penetrate the PVC film to reach the gypsum core layer, fundamentally preventing various problems caused by moisture in gypsum board-it does not expand, powder, or grow mold.
Meeting Building Material Combustion Performance Standards:
- High-quality PVC-coated gypsum board, through a reasonable material formula (addition of flame retardants) and the synergistic effect of the gypsum substrate, can achieve a B1 (flame-retardant) standard, meaning it is not easily ignited when exposed to fire and is self-extinguishing upon removal of the flame.
- The gypsum core layer contains a large amount of water of crystallization, which releases water vapor to absorb heat when exposed to fire, slowing down the overall temperature rise of the board.
